What Is an Elementor Template Kit and How Do I Use One?

What's Actually in a Kit

A Kit typically includes page templates, Theme Builder templates (header, footer, archive designs), global site settings (colors, typography), and optionally demo content and any required plugins the design depends on. Importing one applies all of it at once, which can be a huge time-saver for a new site starting from a proven design, but also means reviewing carefully what will actually be overwritten before importing onto an existing, already-configured site.

Common Uses

  • Starting a new site quickly from a professionally designed kit rather than building every template from scratch.
  • Applying a consistent design across multiple client sites built on a similar template as a starting point.
  • Exporting your own site's design as a kit, to reuse its templates and settings on a future project.
  • Selective import is usually available, letting you choose specific parts of a kit (just the templates, for instance, skipping demo content) rather than importing everything.

Importing or Exporting a Kit

  1. Go to Templates → Kit Library to browse Elementor's own available kits, or use the Import/Export Kit tool for a custom kit file.
  2. Review what the kit includes before importing, using selective import options on an existing site to avoid unwanted overwrites.
  3. Export your own site's design as a kit through the same tool if you want to reuse it elsewhere.
