Move your WordPress site without losing rankings, orders or uptime.

Hosting changes, domain moves and platform switches handled with full redirect mapping and a post-migration check, so search rankings and revenue survive the move.

SIGNS YOU NEED THIS

The situations that call for a proper migration

A migration done carelessly is how sites lose years of search rankings overnight. These are the moves I handle most.

Changing hosting providers

Slow, unreliable, or outgrown hosting is one of the most common reasons to move. I handle the full transfer, DNS cutover and SSL reissue with minimal downtime.

Merging or splitting domains

Consolidating brands onto one domain, or separating one that has grown too large, needs a redirect map that preserves the equity each URL has built up.

Moving off a page builder or slow platform

Migrating from Wix, Squarespace or Shopify onto WordPress, or from a bloated page-builder theme to a faster custom build, without starting your search visibility from zero.

Recovering a site you have lost access to

A previous developer disappeared, or credentials were lost. I can often recover and migrate a site even without full access to the original host.

SCOPE

What I deliver

  • Full site and database migration to the new host or domain
  • DNS and SSL cutover planned for near-zero downtime
  • A complete 301 redirect map from every old URL to its new equivalent
  • Search Console and analytics properties carried over, not reset
  • Post-migration QA: forms, checkout, search and every template type tested
  • A broken link and 404 check after the move
  • A documented rollback plan in case anything needs to be reverted

TECHNOLOGY I USE

  • WordPress
  • WP-CLI
  • Cloudflare
  • cPanel
  • MySQL
  • SSL/TLS
  • Search Console

PROCESS

How a migration runs

  1. Map what exists today

Every URL, redirect, form integration and third-party connection gets catalogued before anything moves, so nothing gets silently dropped.

  2. Build the new environment

The site is set up on the new host or domain and tested privately, without affecting the live version visitors see.

  3. Migrate content and data

Database, media and configuration transferred, with a checksum pass to confirm nothing was lost or corrupted in transit.

  4. Cut over with redirects live

DNS and SSL switched over during a low-traffic window, with the full 301 redirect map active from the first request.

  5. Verify and monitor rankings

Search Console is checked for crawl errors in the days after launch, and I stay available if anything needs adjusting.

BENEFITS

What you get out of it

Rankings survive the move

A proper redirect map means Google transfers the authority your pages already earned instead of starting over.

Minimal downtime

Planned and executed during a low-traffic window, with DNS propagation accounted for rather than ignored.

Nothing gets left behind

Forms, integrations and analytics are catalogued before the move, not rediscovered as broken after it.

FAQ

Questions I get asked

What people ask before moving a live site.

Will my Google rankings survive the move?

With a proper 301 redirect map and careful DNS handling, rankings typically recover within a few weeks, sometimes with no visible dip at all. The risk is almost always in migrations done without redirect mapping, not in the move itself.

How much downtime should I expect?

Planned correctly, most migrations have close to zero visitor-facing downtime. DNS propagation can take a few hours in the background, but the old site usually keeps serving traffic until the new one is confirmed working.

Can you migrate from Wix, Squarespace or Shopify to WordPress?

Yes. Content and structure transfer over, though the rebuild on the WordPress side varies by how the original site was built. I will scope that specifically once I see the source site.

What if I’ve lost access to my current host or developer?

It is often still possible to recover a site through your domain registrar, a hosting support request, or a cached/crawled copy, depending on the situation. Tell me what access you do have and I will tell you honestly what is recoverable.

Do you handle DNS and SSL as part of the migration?

Yes, DNS cutover and SSL reissue are part of a full migration, not a separate task you need to arrange elsewhere.
