Who runs this site

ashekur.com is the personal and professional website of Ashekur Rahman, a freelance web developer based in Bangladesh working with clients internationally. I decide what happens to the information described here. For anything on this page, including a request to delete your details, email hello@ashekur.com.

What the contact forms collect

There are two contact forms on this site — one on the contact page and one at the bottom of the homepage. Both collect the same three things, and all three are ones you type yourself:

• Your name, so a reply can address you properly.
• Your email address, so a reply can reach you.
• Your message — whatever you choose to write about the project.

Nothing else is collected. There is no hidden field capturing your location, your browser, or the page you arrived from. The forms do include one unused field, labelled “Company website”, which is hidden from people and from screen readers; it exists to catch automated spam, and anything submitted through it is discarded rather than stored.

Please do not send passwords, card details or client credentials through the form. If a project needs those, we will arrange a sensible way to share them.

How your enquiry is used

Your message is used to read and answer your enquiry, and to carry on the conversation if it turns into a project. That is the whole purpose. Your details are not sold, rented or shared for anyone else’s marketing, and you will not be added to a mailing list — there isn’t one.

Enquiries are kept for as long as they are needed to deal with the enquiry and any work that follows from it. If you would like yours removed sooner, email hello@ashekur.com and it will be deleted.

Where form submissions go

When you press send, the form posts your name, email and message to a Google Apps Script endpoint, which writes them into a Google Sheet in my Google account. Google therefore stores and processes those submissions on my behalf, and Google’s own handling of that data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. I read the enquiries from that sheet and reply by email.

Google operates data centres in a number of countries, so a submission may be stored or processed outside your own country, including outside the EU and the UK. If you would rather not use the form for that reason, email me directly at hello@ashekur.com or message the WhatsApp number on the contact page — both reach me just as well.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, heatmaps, session recording or advertising trackers. Nothing is written to your browser’s local storage. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Third-party services this site loads

The pages themselves pull a few files from other providers. Requesting a file necessarily reveals your IP address and basic browser information to whoever serves it — that is how the web works, and it applies to every site that loads anything externally. The services involved here are:

• Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) — the two typefaces the site is set in.
• jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) — the Bootstrap stylesheet and the GSAP animation library.

Neither is used to identify you or to track you between sites, and neither sets a cookie on this site. Links to WhatsApp, LinkedIn, GitHub, Instagram and Facebook, and links out to client websites, are ordinary links: nothing is sent to those services unless you click through, at which point their own privacy policies apply.

Visitors in the EU and the UK

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, data protection law gives you rights over personal information about you. In practice, for this site, you can ask me to:

• tell you what I hold about you, and give you a copy;
• correct anything that is wrong;
• delete your enquiry;
• stop using your details, or restrict what I do with them.

Email hello@ashekur.com and I will deal with it. Because the only personal data here is what you sent me, most of these requests come down to finding your message and removing it, which is straightforward.

If you are in the EU or the UK and you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you are entitled to complain to your national data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office; in EU member states it is your country’s supervisory authority.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the form is encrypted in transit. The Google account holding the enquiry sheet is protected by its own account security. No system is perfect, and I would rather say that plainly than promise otherwise.

Changes to this policy

If what the site collects or how it is handled changes — a different form backend, say, or analytics being added — this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
