Why Are Elementor Widgets Missing From the Panel?

Why This Happens

Elementor's widget panel dynamically builds its list from core widgets, active Pro widgets (license-dependent), and any third-party widgets registered by other active plugins — if any of those sources isn't functioning correctly, its widgets simply won't appear, generally without an obvious error message pointing to the specific cause.

Common Causes

• An inactive or expired Elementor Pro license, hiding or graying out Pro-exclusive widgets even though the Pro plugin itself is still installed.
• Widgets manually disabled under Elementor → Settings → Widgets, a feature meant to declutter the panel by hiding unused widget types.
• A third-party widget plugin failing to load properly, whether from a compatibility conflict, being only partially activated, or a coding error preventing registration.
• Browser or editor caching showing a stale widget panel from before a plugin was activated or a license was renewed.

How to Fix It

1. Confirm the Elementor Pro license is active and connected under Elementor → License.
2. Check Elementor → Settings → Widgets to confirm the missing widget hasn't been manually disabled.
3. Confirm the relevant third-party plugin is active and check its own settings for any additional activation step.
4. Clear all caching and refresh the editor after making changes.

Work out which source is missing

1. Is it a core, Pro or add-on widget? Core widgets such as Heading, Image and Button always appear. Missing Pro widgets point to the licence or the Pro plugin. Missing add-on widgets point to the add-on plugin that registers them.
2. Check that Elementor and Elementor Pro versions are compatible. Pro needs a matching version of the free plugin, and updating only one of them can make widgets disappear. Update both, then reload the editor.
3. Try Safe Mode under Elementor → Tools. It loads the editor without other plugins interfering. If the widgets come back, a plugin or the theme is the cause, and you can narrow it down by deactivating them one at a time.
4. Search the panel for the widget by name. It may simply be sitting in a different category from where you expect it.

After a site move or domain change

An Elementor Pro licence is tied to the site address. After moving to a new domain, or to a staging copy, Pro features can disappear until the licence is reconnected. Reconnect it, then use Elementor → Tools → Regenerate CSS & Data and clear caches.
