The ask
A PSD from Quomodosoft, to become an agency template good enough to sell on ThemeForest.
The build
Converted by hand into HTML, CSS and JavaScript, in four colour variants, with the code left conventional enough for buyers to extend.
The outcome
Submitted to ThemeForest and approved — a review that rejects a great deal of what it receives.
THE PROBLEM
A PSD, and a reviewer between it and the market
The brief was a Photoshop file and the destination was ThemeForest, which does not simply list what it is sent. Submissions are reviewed and a large share are rejected, on code quality, responsive behaviour, browser support and documentation rather than on how the design looks. So the work had two audiences before it ever had a buyer: a reviewer looking for reasons to say no, and the developers who would open the files afterwards and take them apart.
THE SOLUTION
Converted by hand, built to be opened
I converted the PSD into HTML, CSS and JavaScript by hand, keeping every section to one repeating structure so a buyer’s content drops in without the layout arguing, and shipping the same layout in four colour variants so a palette is a choice rather than a CSS exercise. Nothing clever was used where conventional would do — on a template, readable markup is a feature, because the next person to touch it has no context at all.

- A filterable work gallery with lightbox, and animated skill and pricing blocks

THE RESULT
Approved on ThemeForest
It went through submission and was approved for sale. That approval is the part worth quoting: it is an outside reviewer, with no relationship to the project, checking the build against a published standard and having every reason to reject it. Client sign-off says the work pleased the person who commissioned it; a marketplace approval says it held up to someone who did not.
