The ask
A Figma design from the agency, to be converted into a WordPress site the nursery group could run.
A Figma design from Sky Web Design, converted into WordPress with Elementor on the Hello Elementor theme — a nursery group with several settings, admissions, visit booking, Ofsted information and recruitment.
The ask
A Figma design from the agency, to be converted into a WordPress site the nursery group could run.
The build
Elementor on the Hello Elementor theme — a deliberately blank starting point, so the design comes from the build rather than a theme’s opinions.
The outcome
A site the group edits themselves, which the agency has since taken further on their own.
THE PROBLEM
The design was signed off in Figma before the build began, so the questions left were not what it should look like but what happens afterwards. A nursery group publishes constantly — a setting changes its hours, an Ofsted report lands, a vacancy opens — and builder-made sites are where that goes wrong: each page drifts a little further from the last until nothing matches and every edit needs a developer again.
THE SOLUTION
I built it with Elementor on Hello Elementor, a starter theme that ships with almost no styling of its own. That is the point: the design comes from the build rather than from a theme’s opinions being argued with. The pages the design specified — each setting with its own admissions detail and visit-booking path, Ofsted information a click from the top level, recruitment on its own track — were built to a consistent structure so the group could add and edit without the site coming apart.
THE STACK
WordPress with Elementor over a blank starter theme — the combination a non-technical team can actually keep running after handover:
THE RESULT
The nursery group got a site their own team maintains, and Sky Web Design has since built on it with their own theme and tooling. Work that the agency continues to develop after handover is the version of success that matters on a white-label build: they took it on rather than rebuilt it.
THE SERVICE BEHIND IT
This project came out of my WordPress Development work. That page covers the process in full — what I deliver, how a project runs, and the questions people usually ask before starting one.
