THE PROBLEM
What I actually get called in to fix
Wix suits one situation well: a small business that wants a clean marketing site live quickly and cheaply, with no server to maintain. It is not the right tool for a large content operation or complex ecommerce, and it does not stop someone dragging together a site with no structure. I am upfront about which of those situations you are in before we start — and I build it properly, or tell you honestly to look elsewhere.
Needs something the drag-and-drop editor cannot do
Custom form logic, a calculation, an integration with a third-party service — Wix Velo covers a real amount of this without needing to leave the platform entirely.
The SEO basics were never set up
Missing meta titles, no alt text, no sitemap submitted — Wix does not block good SEO, but it also does not do it for you by default. This gets set up properly on every build.
Not sure Wix is even the right platform
If the brief is closer to a WooCommerce store or a large content site, I will say so before you spend anything — see WordPress Development and Webflow Development for where those lines usually sit.

Questions I get asked
What people ask before starting a Wix build, answered up front rather than in the first call.
Is Wix good enough for a small business site?
For a straightforward marketing site — a handful of pages, a contact form, maybe simple bookings or a small product catalogue — yes. It is fast to launch, cheap to run and easy for a non-technical owner to update. It stops being the right choice once you need deep integrations, a large content operation or complex ecommerce, and I will tell you plainly if that is where your project is heading.
Can you add functionality Wix does not have out of the box?
Within limits, yes, using Wix Velo — Wix's own custom-code layer — to add logic the drag-and-drop elements cannot do: custom form handling, dynamic content, third-party API calls. It will not turn Wix into a full application platform, and I will say so upfront if what you need goes beyond that.
What if I outgrow Wix later?
It is a common path — start on Wix to launch quickly and cheaply, then move to WordPress or Webflow once the business needs more than Wix is built for. When that point comes I migrate the content across with a full redirect map, so the site's existing search rankings are not thrown away in the move.
Is Wix good for SEO?
The basics — meta titles, descriptions, clean URLs, a sitemap and structured data — are all achievable in Wix and I set them up properly on every build. It is not the platform I would pick for a large-scale content or SEO operation, but for a small marketing site it is not the obstacle people often assume it is.
How much does a Wix project cost?
It depends on the number of pages, whether Bookings or Stores are involved, and how much custom Velo logic the project needs.
