The ask
A finished site delivered as static HTML files, to become a WordPress build the agency could run themselves.
A UK web engineering agency’s own site, handed to me as static HTML and converted into a WordPress theme they could run — services, hosting plans, a product shop and a persistent light/dark theme.
The ask
A finished site delivered as static HTML files, to become a WordPress build the agency could run themselves.
The build
Converted into a custom theme with a companion plugin — templates, editable regions and WooCommerce for the hosting plans.
The outcome
They took over the design afterwards and polished it themselves, which is what a conversion is for.
THE PROBLEM
The agency had their site built as flat HTML files. It looked finished, and it was unusable as a business tool: adding a service page meant editing markup, changing a hosting plan meant editing markup, and nobody who was not a developer could touch it. Converting that into WordPress is not a port — it is a set of decisions about what becomes a template, what becomes an editable field, and what becomes a reusable part, made in a way that survives the agency changing its mind later.
THE SOLUTION
I built it as a custom theme with a companion plugin rather than fitting the markup into something bought, so the structure follows the site the agency actually designed. The two buyer journeys they run — enquiries for project work, self-serve purchase for hosting — sit on one install: hosting plans are modelled as comparable, purchasable products through WooCommerce rather than as a static pricing table, and the front-end behaviour from the original HTML, including the light/dark theme that persists between visits, came through the conversion intact.
THE STACK
A custom theme and companion plugin under Elementor, with WooCommerce for the hosting plans — a stack a web engineering agency can take over and extend themselves:
THE RESULT
The clearest evidence a conversion worked is what the client does next without you. After handover this agency went on refining the design on their own — no developer in the loop, no going back to the markup. The engagement has continued since 2024, which is the other half of the same point.
THE SERVICE BEHIND IT
This project came out of my WordPress development work. That page covers the process in full — what I deliver, how a project runs, and the questions people usually ask before starting one.

App landing page · Template
PSD to front end for Quomodosoft — a mobile app landing page template with features, gallery, pricing and FAQ on one scroll, later featured on Colorlib.
Nursery & pre-school group · United Kingdom
Figma from the agency, converted into WordPress with Elementor on Hello Elementor — a nursery group with several settings, admissions and visit booking.
